Understanding the Red Hat Subscription Management Organization ID

Activation keys in Red Hat Subscription Management assist you with registering and attaching subscriptions associated with your account. Organization administrators can use keys to preconfigure subscriptions before they are registered. Once an organization key is created, users can register systems and have all of their required subscriptions attached to their system at once.

The organization ID is a Candlepin-specific identifier and is separate from your Red Hat and Oracle account numbers. To access the organization ID from Customer Portal:

1. Open the This content is not included.activation keys page.
2. The Organization ID displays under the top navigation menu.

Note: This page is only available to organization administrators.

To access the organization from the command line interface, enter:

[root@myhost ~]#  subscription-manager orgs --username=[USERNAME] --password=[PASSWORD]
