This Knowledge Base article provides answers to frequently asked questions related to the Red Hat CloudForms Statement of Direction announcement.
What is the timing of the changes?
As of March 1, 2020, Red Hat no longer offers standalone CloudForms and is being removed from any bundled offerings.
Red Hat will continue to support all CloudForms and RHVS customers through the end of their subscription and will continue to take renewals as follows:
- Up to 2 year renewals until March 1, 2021
- Up to 1 year renewals from March 1, 2021 until March 1, 2022
- No renewals for Red Hat CloudForms will be accepted after March 1, 2022, but Red Hat will continue to support all customers until their subscription ends.
What does this change mean for our customers?
Red Hat CloudForms 5.0 is Generally Available as of Dec 12, 2019 and is not deprecating any of the 3rd party (or non-Red Hat) providers such as VMware, AWS, Azure, etc. Content from www-01.ibm.com is not included.IBM Cloud Pak for Multicloud Management now includes CloudForms 5.0, and IBM offers a subscription transition process for customers who wish to continue to use CloudForms/ManageIQ after their Red Hat subscription ends.
With the release of CloudForms 5.0.11 (cfme-5.11.11) Red Hat will no longer release Red Hat Enhancement Advisories (RHEAs). IBM will move forward with the other providers, continuing to innovate in the ManageIQ upstream community and maintaining the foundation of Red Hat’s approach.

Customers who are using BOTH third party providers (such as VMware, AWS, Azure, etc.) AND Red Hat providers (RHV, OSP) have the option to migrate the standalone Red Hat CloudForms subscriptions to Content from www.ibm.com is not included.IBM Cloud Pak for Multicloud Management licenses.

These customers will continue to have access to CloudForms for the remainder of its lifecycle.
