OpenShift Container Platform 4.x Tested Integrations (for ppc64le)
Note: For older OCP versions see OpenShift Container Platform 4.x Tested Integrations (for ppc64le) [version 4.12-4.15]
Tested Integrations are a defined set of specifically tested configurations and interface points between technologies that represent the most common combinations that Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) customers are using or deploying for the ppc64le architecture. For these integrations, Red Hat has directly, or through certified partners, exercised a full range of platform tests as part of the product release process. Issues identified as part of this testing process are highlighted in release notes for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. For more information on each of these please see the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certified Ecosystem, in the hardware and cloud provider spaces.
If you are looking for information on other cpu architectures, please see this article for more information.
It is possible to run Red Hat OpenShift with alternative configurations, not explicitly listed by this page or as part of the product documentation. Please refer to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for more information on how those configurations are supported.
This list of tested integrations is expected to expand over time, however, this page is limited to only covering what OpenShift supported at the time the minor version GA'ed. This means that it is possible for other configurations to be "tested" and/or "supported" that are not listed, due to patch update. Please see the product release notes for more details regarding those configurations.
Terms and Definitions
In order to keep the information on this page brief and simple to read, we will use one to two-word phrases or terms throughout the document to describe how OpenShift is tested in conjunction with other products. If you see the following terms you can refer to these definitions to gain a better understanding of the term.
- IPI: Installer Provisioned Infrastructure.
- UPI: User Provisioned Infrastructure.
- Tested: Where this term is used, Red Hat has explicitly tested OpenShift (for the denoted minor version[s]) with the denoted component, platform, or integration point. Where this term is seen customers should expect the documented features connected/related to this integration to work, and where they do not, users should open a This content is not included.support case so that the issue can be investigated and addressed.
- Not Tested: Where this term is used, Red Hat has not explicitly carried out testing a combination of the designated component with the OpenShift release.
- Not Available: Red Hat is not currently or at the time of the release, offering, supplying, and/or testing any integration between these version or product combinations.
Platforms and Infrastructure
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is fully supported running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS. Version information for each OCP minor version will be shared below, or as part of the product release notes.

- Red Hat Provides support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux based on the Hypervisors listed in https://access.redhat.com/certified-hypervisors as such OpenShift as a platform is supported on these hypervisors but may not be explicitly listed as a tested Infrastructure Layer
Red Hat recommends that this only be used in proof of concept (POC) environments, and does not recommend this for production use cases.
2: Red Hat OpenStack has limits on the various components, be sure that any OpenShift deployment on top of OpenStack fits within the defined limits by reviewing https://access.redhat.com/articles/1436373
3: Red Hat supports many Certified Cloud Providers and any cloud provider on the list is "supported" so long as it supports RHEL as a base OS (see above for versions). However we do not explicitly test OCP on all CCP's so the scope of support may be limited.
4: Red Hat Provides support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux based on the Hypervisors listed in https://access.redhat.com/certified-hypervisors as such OpenShift as a platform is supported on these hypervisors but may not be explicitly listed as a tested Infrastructure Layer.
5: Red Hat has limits on the number vm's that can be run with a subscription for KVM and https://access.redhat.com/articles/rhel-kvm-limits should be revied for limit restrictions.
