single sign-on Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS-1) Availability
Overview
This content is not included.single sign-on (formerly known as Red Hat Single Sign-On) is based on the Keycloak community project, and enables organizations to secure their critical workloads by providing identity and access management capabilities based on popular standards such as OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and SAML 2.0.
Red Hat released the first version of RH-SSO 7 in June 2016 and has been providing full and maintenance support to its customers base since then. The RH-SSO 7.6 release is the last planned feature release of the RH-SSO 7.x family, and is reaching the end of maintenance support on June 30th 2025 as per the Product Update and Support Policy page.
Customers should consider plans to migrate from RH-SSO 7.x to Red Hat build of Keycloak. Migration guidance is provided with the product documentation for Red Hat build of Keycloak.
Red Hat is still committed to securing its RH-SSO customer base during their planning for a transition to the Red Hat build of Keycloak, and is therefore offering Extended Lifecycle Support for RH-SSO 7.
Extended Lifecycle Support Add-On SKU
Extended Life-cycle Support (ELS) is an optional Add-On subscription that is available during the Extended Life Support phase.
As with any ELS program, a customer is required to have both the ELS SKU and the underlying entitlement that provides support for RH-SSO (e.g. Runtimes, Red Hat Application Foundation, OpenShift, etc.).
The RH-SSO ELS SKU is priced at Runtimes SKU price and is now available in the Red Hat system for procurement and purchase order. Contact your Red Hat Account representative or local Sales for more information. You may also leverage the Red Hat Sales This content is not included.contact page if needed.
Extended Lifecycle Support Period
Red Hat plans to provide extended support on RH-SSO 7 for two (2) years of ELS-1, starting from July 1st 2025 and ending on June 30th 2027.
Extended Lifecycle Support Policy
Extended Life Support subscriptions provide decreasing support and maintenance over time as described in the Lifecycle Phases for Red Hat Application Services Products Update and Support Policy.
Extended Life Support (ELS) is provided according to the published Scope of Coverage and Service Level Agreement.
During the ELS phase, Red Hat provides Critical impact security fixes and selected urgent-priority bug fixes, if and when available. Customers may request specific security or bug fixes and are encouraged to continue applying patch releases.
The security fixes and selected urgent-priority bug fixes are limited to the latest minor release (aka, RH-SSO 7.6). Therefore, customers running with older RH-SSO 7.x versions are encouraged to upgrade to the latest minor release of 7.6 in order to continue receiving fixes through patch updates during the Maintenance and ELS phases.
For more information on the lifecycle phases, including details for the software maintenance performed during the ELS-1 life cycle phase period, refer to the Life Cycle Phase Comparison Table in Red Hat Application Services Product Update and Support Policy.
