RHBA-2011:0819 - powerpc-utils bug fix update
Synopsis
powerpc-utils bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory (none)
Topic
An updated powerpc-utils package that fixes a bug is now available.
Description
The powerpc-utils package contains utilities for PowerPC platform.
This updated powerpc-utils package fixes the following bug:
- Removing DLPAR (Dynamic Logical Partitioning) memory caused the kernel to panic due to improper handling of the memory off-lining procedure. This update corrects the code so that drmgr, the dynamic memory manager, now properly off-lines memory, with the result that removing DLPAR memory no longer causes a kernel crash. (BZ#702566)
All PowerPC users are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which resolves this issue.
