An updated sed package that fixes two bugs is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The sed package provides is a stream or batch (non-interactive) editor that takes text as input, performs an operation or a set of operations on the text, and outputs the modified text.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Prior to this update, the is_selinux_disabled() function was not correctly checked. With this update, this check returns the correct value and now the check works as expected. (BZ#721349)

  • Prior to this update, the behavior of the i/--in-place option for symlinks and hardlinks was not clearly documented. With this update, the manpage and the user documentation has been improved and this problem is resolved. (BZ#679921)

All sed users are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes these bugs.
