RHBA-2012:0179 - xmlrpc-c bug fix update
Synopsis
xmlrpc-c bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory (none)
Topic
Updated xmlrpc-c packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
Description
The xmlrpc-c utility provides a way to make remote procedure calls over the Internet. It converts the procedure call into an XML document, sends it to a remote server using HTTP, and gets back the response as XML.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Prior to this update, the Generic Security Services Application Program Interface (GSSAPI) credential delegation was disabled. As a consequence, applications using the xmlrpc-c package and relying on the delegation exhibited various issues and did not work as expected. This update adds the analogous GSSAPI_DELEGATION to xmlrpc-c to allow for credential delegation when applications need it. (BZ#727884, BZ#756704)
All users of xmlrpc-c are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red Hat Network to apply this update are available at This content is not included.https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-11259
