RHBA-2013:0598 - openldap bug fix update
Synopsis
openldap bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated openldap packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Description
OpenLDAP is an open source suite of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) applications and development tools. LDAP is a set of protocols used to access and maintain distributed directory information services over an IP network. The openldap package contains configuration files, libraries, and documentation for OpenLDAP.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, OpenLDAP did not properly handle non-replicated operations in the syncprov provider. This caused unexpected behavior and the application terminated unexpectedly with a segmentation fault when the overlay was specified twice in the configuration file. With this update, the source code has been modified to properly disregard the non-replicated operations and, as a result, OpenLDAP no longer crashes. (BZ#916140)
Users of openldap are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
