RHBA-2013:0704 - rhev 3.1.3.2 - vdsm bug fix update

Synopsis

rhev 3.1.3.2 - vdsm bug fix update

Type/Severity

Bug Fix Advisory

Topic

Updated vdsm packages that fix a bug are now available.

Description

The Virtual Desktop Server Manager (VDSM) is a management module that serves as the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager's agent on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor or Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtualization hosts.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Performance speed for Storage Pool Manager (SPM) tasks was reduced when the ISO domain was inactive and disconnected from the SPM. Now, VDSM computes the ISO prefix asynchronously, and does not wait for the ISO domain to report its prefix before executing SPM tasks, so the performance of SPM tasks remains constant. (BZ#920136)

All users managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux Virtualization hosts using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager are advised to install these updated packages which fix these bugs.

These updated packages will be provided to users of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor in the next rhev-hypervisor6 errata package.
