Updated emacs packages that fix a bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

GNU Emacs is a powerful, customizable, self-documenting text editor. It provides special code editing features, a scripting language (elisp), and the capability to read email and news.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • The Lucida Typewriter and Lucida Console fonts were not usable with Emacs 23.1 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Consequently, the following error message was displayed in the Messages buffer: "set-face-attribute: Font not available". With this update, no error message is displayed in this scenario and the selected font can be used to display the buffer contents. (BZ#678225)

Users of emacs are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
