RHBA-2013:1528 - ovirt-node bug fix and enhancement update
Synopsis
ovirt-node bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated ovirt-node package that fixes several bugs is now available.
Description
The ovirt-node package provides the utilities and recipes used to create and configure the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor ISO image.
Note: Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor is only available for the Intel 64 and AMD64 architectures with virtualization extensions.
This update fixes these following bugs:
-
The hypervisor boot interface showed an incorrect operating system version because the /etc/system-release file was not updated dynamically. Now, the /etc/system-release file is updated within the chroot when initrd is rebuilt, so the operating system version displays correctly. (BZ#1027428)
-
Previously the ovirt-node configuration file for logrotate had an invalid syntax which prevented Augeas from editing it. The syntax of the file has been fixed, and some code has been migrated to the new codebase, so Augeas can now edit and save the file. (BZ#1023957, BZ#1027424)
-
Previously, attempting to view the details of installed plugins returned an exception. This was a side effect of restructuring the manifests into directories. The edit-node script now removes manifests after performing all operations, so the plugins can be viewed without error. (BZ#1027426)
-
The Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) for the hypervisor is now determined based on the $VERSION parameter stated in the version.ks file. (BZ#1023522)
Users of the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which corrects these issues and adds these enhancements.
This ovirt-node package is included in the rhev-hypervisor6 package associated with advisory RHBA-2013:1527
