Updated flex packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The flex packages provide a utility for generating scanners. The scanners are programs that can recognize lexical patterns in text.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the flex static libraries for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures were included in the same package. Consequently, an attempt to compile an i386 code on an x86_64 system failed unless the 64-bit version of the flex utility had been removed. With this update, the libraries have been moved to separate packages, and flex works as expected in the described scenario. (BZ#570661)

Users of flex are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
