Updated trace-cmd packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Description

The trace-cmd packages contain a command-line tool that interfaces with the ftrace utility in the kernel.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Due to invalid pointers, executing the "trace-cmd split" or "trace-cmd report" commands after running latency tracers failed with a segmentation fault. With this update, additional checks have been added to ensure that the pointers are properly initialized before attempting to use them. As a result, the segmentation fault no longer occurs in the described scenario. (BZ#879814)

Users of trace-cmd are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
