RHBA-2014:1930 - openstack-heat bug fix advisory
Synopsis
openstack-heat bug fix advisory
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated OpenStack Orchestration packages that resolve various issues are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.0 (Icehouse) for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes packages for:
- OpenStack Orchestration service
OpenStack Orchestration (heat) is a template-driven engine used to specify and deploy configurations for Compute, Storage, and OpenStack Networking. It can also be used to automate post-deployment actions, which in turn allows automated provisioning of infrastructure, services, and applications. Orchestration can also be integrated with Telemetry alarms to implement auto-scaling for certain infrastructure resources.
This update addresses the following issue:
- Prior to this update, Orchestration (heat) did not expect partial deletion of OS::Neutron::LoadBalancer resources. As a result, it was not possible to completely delete the resource if deletion previously failed after some members had already been removed. With this update, Orchestration is able to delete partially-deleted OS::Neutron::LoadBalancer resources. Consequently, should resource deletion fail for any reason partially through the process, it can still be deleted in a subsequent attempt. (BZ#1163392)
