Updated cups packages that fix several bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) provides a portable printing layer for Linux, UNIX, and similar operating systems.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, it was not possible to disable SSLv3 encryption in the CUPS scheduler, which left the scheduler vulnerable to attacks against SSLv3. To fix this bug, the "SSLOptions" keyword in the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf configuration file has been extended to include two new options, "AllowRC4" and "AllowSSL3", allowing respectively the RC4 and SSLv3 features in the cupsd service. The new options are also supported in the /etc/cups/client.conf file. With this update, both RC4 and SSLv3 are disabled by default. (BZ#1161172)

• Previously, after a system reboot, the CUPS scheduler did not start unless a printer was connected, or until required by a local user. This meant that after rebooting a Server variant system, the CUPS scheduler was unavailable for remote systems. This bug has been fixed and the CUPS scheduler, if enabled, now starts during boot for Server installations. (BZ#1236184)

Users of cups are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs. After installing this update, the cupsd service will be restarted automatically.

Solution
