RHBA-2016:0721 - Red Hat Ceph Storage 1.3 bug fix and enhancement update
Synopsis
Red Hat Ceph Storage 1.3 bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Red Hat Ceph Storage 1.3 that fixes various bugs and adds one enhancement is now available.
Description
Red Hat Ceph Storage is a scalable, open, software-defined storage platform that combines the most stable version of the Ceph storage system with a Ceph management platform, deployment utilities, and support services.
This update fixes the following bugs:
-
Previously, when Ceph used the syslog daemon, all Ceph log messages were labeled with the "emerg" priority by default. With this update, the priority of the Ceph log messages is set appropriately. (BZ#1276186)
-
Prior to this update, an attempt to reload the ceph-radosgw service by using the "/etc/init.d/ceph-radosgw reload" command failed. This bug has been fixed, and ceph-radosgw can now be reloaded as expected. (BZ#1314467)
-
Due to a bug in the underlying cephx source code, the qemu-kvm application failed with the "double free or corruption" error message. With this update, the cephx code has been modified, and qemu-kvm no longer crashes in the described situation. (BZ#1327540)
In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:
- With this update, support for the reweight-by-utilization option has been added to the "ceph osd" command. The option reweights the Object Storage Device (OSD) nodes by reducing the weight of OSDs that are heavily overused. (BZ#1316675)
Users of Red Hat Ceph Storage are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add this enhancement.
