RHBA-2016:1938 - Satellite 6.1.10 bug fix update
Synopsis
Satellite 6.1.10 bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory None
Topic
Updated Satellite 6.1 packages that fix several bugs are now available.
Description
Red Hat Satellite is a system management solution that allows organizations to configure and maintain their systems without the necessity to provide public Internet access to their servers or other client systems. It performs provisioning and configuration management of predefined standard operating environments.
This update fixes the following bugs:
-
Satellite was not able to provision vCenter if nested folders were used. The code has been updated to support this use case. (BZ#1170276)
-
The performance of content upload has been improved. (BZ#1190902)
-
Satellite did not support setting parameters for locations. This is now supported. (BZ#1256461, BZ#1361114)
-
Logrotate caused Satellite to stop listening on port 9090 for communications to the proxy. This has been fixed and the logrotate service no longer disrupts Satellite Server. (BZ#1273785, BZ#1351652)
-
Having a large numbers of new hypervisors sometimes caused an internal server error "stack depth limit exceeded". Candlepin has been patched to not be impacted by this state. (BZ#1280346)
-
Previously, when viewing roles, the output was limited to 20 entries. The number of roles shown on the screen and the size of the partition table field have been increased. (BZ#1293458, BZ#1321140)
-
Parameter values could not contain spaces. The edits have been enhanced to support this case. (BZ#1306395)
-
Previously, when having a large number of virtual machines as a compute resource and trying to view the list, the request timed out and displayed an error message "There was an error listing VMs: Request Timeout". The integration to RHEV has been improved to not time out when listing virtual machines. (BZ#1320314, BZ#1327336)
-
Deleting a user would delete any activation keys the user created. The relationship has been enhanced to not cascade the delete. (BZ#1337854)
-
Refreshing pools would not delete stack derived pools. These are now deleted. (BZ#1351649)
-
EUS repositories could not be enabled. Satellite can now sync this Red Hat Content. (BZ#1357905)
-
Satellite was deleting hypervisors when upgrading. They are now handled correctly. (BZ#1357936)
-
The use of a comma in LDAP CNames caused AD user groups to not function correctly. These CNames are now supported. (BZ#1358451)
-
Restarting goferd was forcing applicability regeneration. This unnecessary calculation was degrading performance and has been removed. (BZ#1368677)
Users of Red Hat Satellite are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
