RHBA-2017:0043 - Red Hat Virtualization Manager 4.0.6
Synopsis
Red Hat Virtualization Manager 4.0.6
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory None
Topic
An update is now available for Red Hat Virtualization Manager version 4.0.
Description
The Red Hat Virtualization Manager is a centralized management platform that allows system administrators to view and manage virtual machines. The Manager provides a comprehensive range of features including search capabilities, resource management, live migrations, and virtual infrastructure provisioning.
The Manager is a JBoss Application Server application that provides several interfaces through which the virtual environment can be accessed and interacted with, including an Administration Portal, a User Portal, and a Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API).
Changes to the ovirt-engine component:
-
Previously, when virtual machines were stopped during a system shutdown or reboot they appeared to VDSM as if they had been shut down from within the guest operating system. This information was sent to the Red Hat Virtualization Manager and this meant that the Manager did not start highly available virtual machines on a different host because the Manager considered the the shut down of the virtual machines to be user-initiated. Now, the Red Hat Virtualization guest agent allows VDSM to detect that the virtual machine was shut down from within the system and this means that highly available virtual machines stopped during a system shutdown are restarted on a different host. (BZ#1389332)
-
Previously, after opening a new disk window from within the new virtual machine window the virtual machine window did not function correctly after closing the new disk window. Now, when a new disk window is opened from within the new virtual machine window the new virtual machine window no longer closes and allows the virtual machine window to function correctly. (BZ#1396783)
-
With this update, public key authentication access has been fixed when importing virtual machines from KVM. (BZ#1400527)
