Updated libguestfs packages that fix two bugs and add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The libguestfs packages contain a library, which is used for accessing and modifying virtual machine (VM) disk images.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the libguestfs library did not recognize guest operating systems when the /usr/ directory was not in the same partition as root directory ( / ). As a consequence, the libguestfs tools did not perform as expected. With this update, the libguestfs library recognizes guest operating systems when the /usr/ directory is not located in the same partition as root. As a result, the libguestfs tools perform as expected. (BZ#1406289)

• Previously, the virt-v2v utility rejected the import of Open Virtual Appliances (OVA) without the This content is not included.ovf:Name attribute. As a consequence, the virt-v2v utility did not import OVAs exported by Amazon Web Services (AWS). To fix this bug, virt-v2v now uses the base name of the disk image file as the name of the virtual machine, if the This content is not included.ovf:Name attribute is missing. As a result, the virt-v2v utility now imports OVAs exported by Amazon Web Services. (BZ#1408124)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

• The virt-v2v utility now exports disk images compatible with qcow2 format version 1.1 when using the -o rhev option. In addition, virt-v2v adds the --vdsm-compat=COMPAT option for the vdsm output mode. This option specifies which version of the qcow2 format virt-v2v uses, when exporting images with the -o vdsm option. (BZ#1406854)

Users of libguestfs are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs and add this enhancement.
