Updated dmdicode packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Description
The dmidecode packages provide utilities for extracting Intel 64 and Intel Itanium hardware information from the system BIOS or Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI), depending on the SMBIOS/DMI standard. This information typically includes system manufacturer, model name, serial number, BIOS version, and asset tag, as well as other details, depending on the manufacturer.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, the dmidecode utilities failed to extract hardware information from the BIOS or the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI). This update fixes the underlying source code, and dmidecode now work as expected. (BZ#1401905)
Users of dmdicode are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
Solution
