Updated gfs2-utils packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The gfs2-utils packages contain utilities for creating, checking, modifying, and correcting any inconsistencies in GFS2 file systems.

This update fixes the following bugs:

  • Certain storage devices report optimal I/O size values that are not divisible by their reported minimal I/O size value. Previously, the mkfs.gfs2 and gfs2_grow commands attempted to align GFS2 resource groups to unsuitable boundaries. As a consequence, mkfs.gfs2 failed, and gfs2_grow sometimes terminated unexpectedly with a segmentation fault. With this update, mkfs.gfs2 and gfs2_grow no longer attempt to align resource groups to unsuitable boundaries, and the described problems no longer occur. (BZ#1437009, BZ#1437125)

Users of gfs2-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
