Updated nss-softokn packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The nss-softokn packages provide the Network Security Services Softoken Cryptographic Module.

This update fixes the following bugs:

• Previously, the nss-softokn-freebl library did not depend on the required version of the Netscape Portable Runtime (NSPR) package. As a consequence, the yum and rpm commands stopped working when nss-softokn-freebl was updated through some uncommon situations. This update adds an explicit dependency on NSPR. As a result, rpm and yum now work as expected in this scenario. (BZ#1477588)

• Previously, when running the nss-softokn package in the FIPS mode, the Error Correcting Code (ECC) self-test did not run. This behavior prevented FIPS validation process passing. A patch has been applied to enable FIPS power-on self-test for Network Security Services (NSS), and the described problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1476671).

Users of nss-softokn are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
