An update for kmod is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Description
The kmod packages contain the tools for managing the Linux kernel modules.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, the kmod /sbin/weak-modules script worked only with modules installed in the /lib/modules/
/extra/ directory, and the '--dry-run' functionality was broken. Consequently, the script did not display messages regarding the modules under the question. With this update, the source code has been fixed. As a result, the weak-modules script now handles modules from anywhere in the file system. Additionally, the script also uses the '--dry-run' functionality by saving the state when it starts and restoring it at the end, producing all the required messages. (BZ#1489696)
All users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug. The system must be rebooted for this update to take effect.
Solution
