Updated spice packages that fix one bug and add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) is a remote display system built for virtual environments which allows the user to view a computing 'desktop' environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, live migration of a guest virtual machine in some cases failed if the QXL driver was installed on the guest. This update fixes the spice-server library to avoid guest memory corruption, and the affected guests can now be live migrated successfully. (BZ#1572489)

In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:

  • The TLS protocol version 1.0 has been disabled in the SPICE server. As a result, a client using TLS protocol version 1.0 can no longer connect to the SPICE server. (BZ#1551072)

Users of spice are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug and add this enhancement.
