Updated iptables packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Description
The iptables utility controls the network packet filtering code in the Linux kernel.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, when the iptables and ip6tables services were stopped at the same time, missing "--wait" flag in iptables or ip6tables command calls led to a failure. With this update, the systemd service scripts have been changed to apply the IP(6)TABLES_RESTORE_WAIT and IP(6)TABLES_RESTORE_WAIT_INTERVAL configuration settings to plain iptables and ip6tables command calls as well, and the described problem no longer occurs. (BZ#1563168)
Users of iptables are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
