RHBA-2018:2005 - spice bug fix update
Synopsis
spice bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory None
Topic
Updated spice packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Description
The Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) is a remote display system built for virtual environments which allows the user to view a computing 'desktop' environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.
This update fixes the following bugs:
-
Previously, reconnecting to a running guest virtual machine caused audio input devices attached to the guest, such as microphones, to stop working. This update fixes the handling of the guest recording channel, which prevents the described problem from occurring. (BZ#1582601)
-
Prior to this update, guest virtual machines with USB support enabled became unresponsive after they were migrated to a different host. The underlying code has been fixed, and the affected guests work as expected after a migration. (BZ#1590412)
Users of spice are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
