Updated grub2 packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The grub2 packages provide version 2 of the Grand Unified Boot Loader (GRUB), a highly configurable and customizable boot loader with modular architecture. The packages support a variety of kernel formats, file systems, computer architectures, and hardware devices.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • Previously, the module providing the "regexp" command for Grand Unified Bootloader (GRUB) version 2 was not missing in the GRUB2 EFI binary. As a consequence, the "regexp" command was not present in GRUB2 on UEFI systems with Secure Boot enabled. With this update, the module providing the "regexp" command is included in the GRUB2 EFI binary and works in the described situation. (BZ#1647527)

Users of grub2 are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
