Topic

Updated hostname packages that fix one bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The hostname packages provide commands, which can be used to display the system's DNS name, and to display or set its host name or NIS domain name.

This update fixes the following bug:

  • hostname -A failed to parse long hostnames (BZ#1740190)

Users of hostname are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied.
