An update for redhat virtualization packages is now available for Red Hat Virtualization 4 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

Description

The otopi package is a standalone, plug-in based installation framework to be used to set up system components. The plug-in nature provides simplicity to add new installation functionality without the complexity of the state and transaction management.

Changes to the otopi component:

  • Previously, with Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 on RHEL 7, if the system had Python 3 installed, otopi used Python 3. This caused relevant tools such as engine-setup and ovirt-host-deploy to fail. The current release fixes this issue: Now, even with Python 3 installed, otopi uses Python 2, enabling otopi-based tools such as engine-setup and ovirt-host-deploy to succeed. In the next minor version, 1.9, otopi should support Python 3 on RHEL 8 and Fedora. (BZ#1754515)

  • This release upgrades otopi to version 1.8.4. (BZ#1762733)

The ovirt-host-deploy packages provide deployment implementation required for the Red Hat Virtualization Manager to deploy new hosts. The packages contain a Python library and Java library used by the Red Hat Virtualization Manager package. These libraries are the core deployment logic.

Changes to the ovirt-host-deploy component:

  • This release upgrades ovirt-host-deploy to version 1.8.4. (BZ#1762752)

The ovirt-provider-ovn package provides support for OVN (Open Virtual Network). It can be installed and configured automatically during engine-setup.

Changes to the ovirt-provider-ovn component:

  • This release upgrades ovirt-provider-ovn to version 1.2.27. (BZ#1760383)
