RHBA-2020:3618 - OpenShift Container Platform 4.5.9 bug fix update
Synopsis
OpenShift Container Platform 4.5.9 bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory None
Topic
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform release 4.5.9 is now available with updates to packages and images that fix several bugs.
Description
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is Red Hat's cloud computing Kubernetes application platform solution designed for on-premise or private cloud deployments.
This advisory contains the container images for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.5.9. See the following advisory for the RPM packages for this release:
https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2020:3619
Space precludes documenting all of the container images in this advisory. See the following Release Notes documentation, which will be updated shortly for this release, for details about these changes:
https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.5/release_notes/ocp-4-5-release-notes.html
This update fixes the following bugs among others:
-
Previously, the connection between nodes in the Pipeline Builder would fail when deleting a middle node if the deleted task had a
runAfterand was part of arunAfterof another task. The connection failure is now fixed when a middle node is removed. (BZ#1856156) -
Previously, when upgrading from OpenShift Container Platform version 4.5 to version 4.6, some fields were updated to the 4.6 default values. This affected the ability to downgrade from 4.6 to 4.5 because the 4.5 field values were not preserved. Rather than leaving the fields unspecified in 4.5, this bug fix explicitly preserves the 4.5 values so they can be specified as default values again on a downgrade attempt. Now downgrading from 4.6 to 4.5 can succeed. (BZ#1873345)
-
Previously, running jobs were being considered successful before concluding. This caused the Operator to be temporarily removed from the Degraded state while the job was still running, disregarding the status of the job when evaluating the state of the Operator. This bug fix forces the Operator to remain degraded until all running jobs are finished. (BZ#1873496)
