RHEA-2017:1063 - rhev-guest-tools-iso bug fix and enhancement update
Synopsis
rhev-guest-tools-iso bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory None
Topic
Updated rhev-guest-tools-iso packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.
Description
The rhev-guest-tools-iso package contains tools and drivers that are required by supported Windows guest operating systems when installed as guests on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.
Changes to the rhev-guest-tools component:
-
The vioscsi.sys file is now compatible with Microsoft Cluster Services, which enables the Windows virtio-scsi driver to support Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) using shared storage. As a result, vioscsi.sys can pass all tests in the "Validate a Configuration" process. (BZ#1195140)
-
The RHEV Agent has been renamed to oVirt Agent on Windows. (BZ#1394831)
-
Previously, the guest agent tried to unlock the screen even if it was unlocked. This triggered the Secure Attention Sequence and opened a window prompting the user to change the password, lock the screen, and so on. This issue has now been resolved for most use cases. (BZ#1422801)
-
This release adds the VirtIO-RNG driver installer to the guest tools ISO for supported Windows versions. (BZ#1405032)
