Description

A flaw was found in the net/http golang package. The net/http package incorrectly accepts messages that end with a line feed (LF) instead of the proper line ending. When used with another server that also misinterprets this, it can lead to request smuggling—where an attacker tricks the system to send hidden or unauthorized requests.

Statement

Red Hat Satellite is rated as Low severity for this vulnerability. However, other affected components remain Moderate. Satellite uses the affected Go net/http component solely as a client to make requests, not as a server. Since this vulnerability only affects server-side usage, Satellite is not directly exposed to the flaw, justifying the lower severity rating.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
