What means Universal Default activation key option when setting an activation key on Red Hat Satellite?
Environment
- Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4.1
- Red Hat Network Satellite 5.5
- Red Hat Satellite 5.6
Issue
- What does Universal Default activation key option mean when setting an activation key on Red Hat Satellite?
- Do I have set an activation key as Universal Default? Why?
Resolution
- The option Universal Default means that this key will be used for any system registered to this account that does not specify a key. In other words, it means that if you register a new system without proving any activation key, the configuration set on this Universal Default key will be applied. Note if you use any activation key, the Universal Default key configuration will be not applied, unless you specify it.
