JBoss shutdown hangs when using a queueless executor

Environment

• JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6.x

Issue

• We've set up a JBoss web connector with a queueless executor pool. In this configuration, shutdown often hangs indefinitely.

Resolution

• As a workaround, don't use a queueless executor
• Upgrade to EAP 6.4.0 or later to acquire the fix

Root Cause

• Content from issues.jboss.org is not included.JBTHR-29
• This content is not included.BZ-1126683
• The QueuelessExecutor can miss notification of of the completed shutdown when all of its threads have stopped, resulting in an indefinite shutdown hang.
