Issue

  • Attempt to save alert:SNMP plugins configuration fails with the error message: Failed to save settings .
  • First attempt of saving SNMP alert configurations fails if UDP transport protocol is used.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in JBoss ON 3.3 Update-09 (3.3.9) and later.

If you are not able to apply the update, as a workaround, change the Transport parameter from UDP to TCP and save the configuration. Then, if necessary, change the Transport back to UDP. All future changes should not require this workaround be applied.

Root Cause

The default Transport value of UDP is not set or propagated in the plug-in configuration. This results in a configuration validation error due to the required Transport value not being set.
