Environment

• Red Hat Satellite 6

Issue

• Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository

Resolution

• Configure proxy settings in /etc/katello/answers.katello-installer.yaml

    proxy_url:
    proxy_port:
    proxy_username:
    proxy_password:

• Run # katello-installer
• Refresh manifest in the Satellite WebUI
• Sync Repositories

Root Cause

• Proxy configuration is not configured properly

Diagnostic Steps

# yum update
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository
