When preparing to upgrade a Red Hat Satellite 6 server from a previous minor release (e.g. 6.x to 6.y), or apply a Red Hat Satellite 6 errata update (e.g. 6.x.y to 6.x.z), there are a few steps to follow.
1) Ensure Satellite is in a good state

2) Determine the steps

For upgrading a Red Hat Satellite 6 server from a previous minor release (from 6.x to 6.y), follow the Upgrade chapter in the Installation Guide of the new release, which also includes pre-requisites and pre-upgrade steps. Steps may vary between versions and are updated on a regular basis, so it is mandatory to always refer to the official documentation before proceeding.
