Issue

  • We see an OutOfMemoryError and much of the heap is consumed by an org.hibernate.stat.ConcurrentStatisticsImpl in a org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl

Resolution

  • Ensure hibernate.generate_statistics is set to false

Root Cause

  • Hibernate statistics are enabled
