Cannot enable Satellite Tools Repo on Satellite 6.2 / 6.3 / 6.4 / 6.5
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6.2
- Red Hat Satellite 6.3
- Red Hat Satellite 6.4
- Red Hat Satellite 6.5
Issue
- Selecting Red Hat Satellite Tools 6.3 or 6.4 inside Red Hat Repositories for:
- RHEL 5 (Workstation/Server)
- RHEL 6 (Workstation/Server)
- RHEL 7 (Workstation/Server)
All result in CDN forbidden errors like below:
CDN loading error: access forbidden to https://cdn.redhat.com:443/content/dist/rhel/server/6/6Server/x86_64/sat-tools/6.2/os/repodata/repomd.xml
CDN loading error: access forbidden to https://cdn.redhat.com:443/content/dist/rhel/server/7/7Server/x86_64/sat-tools/6.3/os/repodata/repomd.xml
CDN loading error: access forbidden to https://cdn.redhat.com:443/content/dist/layered/rhel8/x86_64/sat-tools/6.5/os/repodata/repomd.xml
Resolution
For Satellite v 6.2
Please update to Satellite 6.2.10 provided by Red Hat Errata RHBA-2017:1553 or later versions and refresh the manifest.
For Satellite v 6.3 and 6.4 and 6.5
After Satellite upgrade to 6.3 or 6.4 or 6.5, try to refresh the manifest.
After manifest refresh if issue still persists then as an interim workaround, please follow these steps:
NOTE: Please make sure you DO NOT delete the manifest from the Customer Portal or your Satellite WebUI as this will unregister all of your content hosts.
Satellites with an internet connection
- Please go to the
Customer Portaland login, then click on This content is not included.Satellite Organizations and click on your satellite profile from the list of systems. - Make note of the subscriptions attached, check them all and click
Remove Selected - Now click
Attach a subscriptionin the upper right and re-attach all of the subscriptions with required quantity you removed. - Refresh the satellite manifest inside the Satellite WebUI.
- Now attempt to enable the Satellite 6.3 or 6.4 or 6.5 Tools repositories as normal.
Disconnected Satellites without an internet connection
- Please goto the Customer Portal and login, then click on This content is not included.satellite profile and click on your satellite profile from the list of systems.
- Make note of the subscriptions attached, check them all and click
Remove Selected - Now click
Attach a subscriptionin the upper right and re-attach all of the subscriptions with required quantity you removed. - Download Manifest
- Login to the Satellite 6 WebUI
- Click Content -> Subscriptions -> [Manage Manifest]
- Upload the manifest you downloaded in step 4
- Now attempt to enable the Satellite 6.3 or 6.4 or 6.5 Tools repositories as normal.
