Is it safe to unzone unused lun from RHEL7 RHEV host?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.6
- Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.x
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 hosts and hypervisors
vdsm-4.17.11-0.el7ev.noarchand later
Issue
There is an old and/or unused lun mapped to RHEV host/hypervisor.
Can I safely unmap it on the storage server or the host needs to be in maintenance?
Resolution
It is safe to unmap the lun, as long as it is not part of any storage domain in 3.6 RHEV setup.
All the host that the lun is visible to should be based RHEL 7 and have vdsm-4.17.11-0.el7ev.noarch and higher.
