Error messages "[RAIDarray.mpp]CPD1:1:0:8 Illegal Request ASC/ASCQ 0x24/0x0" and "[RAIDarray.mpp]CPD1:1:0:8 IO FAILURE" in the system log

Issue

• My System is logging constantly a lot of RAIDarray.mp errors:

kernel: 85 [RAIDarray.mpp]CPD1:1:0:8 Illegal Request ASC/ASCQ 0x24/0x0, SKSBs 0xc0/0x0/0x2
kernel: 492 [RAIDarray.mpp]CPD1:1:0:8 IO FAILURE. vcmnd SN 1685290 pdev H1:C0:T1:L8 0x05/0x24/0x00 0x08000002 mpp_status:1

Resolution

The RAIDarray.mpp messages are related to mppVhba driver which is not provided by Red Hat, please contact IBM to further analyze this issue.
