SwitchYard Support Plan After Releasing JBoss Fuse 7

Issue

SwitchYard is scheduled for removal in Red Hat JBoss Fuse 7.
How does this affect SwitchYard based applications running on Fuse 6.x or Fuse Service Works 6.0.?

Resolution

SwitchYard's useful features are being integrated into Camel for Fuse 7. This means your SwitchYard applications will most likely not run as-is on Fuse 7, but some ideas and concepts that power them will be present[1]. Camel has emerged as a powerful and flexible framework for integration work, it will become the sole integration toolkit provided in Fuse 7 (but with all it's present capabilities, plus new features[2] including select SwitchYard concepts.)

Your SwitchYard applications will continue to be supported for the duration of the Fuse 6 lifecycle[3], so your present applications can be supported for a long time. We would encourage you to begin new development using Camel, so you will be most familiar with the toolkit and so the applications will most easily be ported forward.
