@LazyGroup is ignored on LazyToOne association with 'mappedBy' in Hibernate

Environment

• Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 7.1
• Hibernate 5.1

Issue

• A @OneToOne association using mappedBy which is annotated with @LazyGroup is loaded as part of the default lazy group.

Resolution

This issue¹ is resolved in This content is not included.EAP 7.1 cumulative patch (CP) 2 and later releases.

Root Cause

This is a known defect (Content from hibernate.atlassian.net is not included.HHH-11986) in older Hibernate 5.1 releases.
