Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.3
  • Manifest with future dated subscription

Issue

  • Getting below error while enabling the repository through web GUI and hammer CLI:

    • Satellite web UI:

Content >> Red Hat Repository >> RPMs >> Select the repository here

No repositories accessible. Check that Red Hat Subscriptions have been imported.

      • Satellite server Hammer CLI:

               # hammer repository-set enable --product "product_name" --basearch "x86_64" --name "repository_name" --organization-id 1

              Could not enable repository:
Forbidden - server refused to process the request

Resolution

  • Remove future dated subscriptions from manifest on the Red Hat Customer Portal:

SUBSCRIPTIONS >> Subscription Allocations >> Click on manifest >> Subscriptions >> Select the
    future dated subscription >> Remove

  • Refresh the manifest:

Content >> Red Hat Subscriptions >> Manage Manifest >> Refresh Manifest

  • Enable and sync required repositories:

Content >> Red Hat Repository >> RPMs >> Select the repositories
Content >> Sync Status >> Expand all >> Select the repositories >> Synchronize Now

  • Once the required repositories are enabled and synced, add future dated subscription to the manifest again from the Red Hat Customer Portal (This step is optional)

SUBSCRIPTIONS >> Subscription Allocations >> Click on manifest >> Add Subscriptions >> Put the entitlement
    quantity >> Submit
