How to schedule a Sync plan for specific days in a week on Red Hat Satellite 6?

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6

Issue

  • Scheduling a sync plan on specific days in a week (For example: scheduling sync plan three days in a week or alternate days)

Resolution

  • With Satellite 6.5, the sync plan scheduling is moved from pulp to foreman tasks. As part of this, the user is now also able to set up a schedule using a cron syntax. This will easily allow for a sync plan that executes on particular days in a week.

  • Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Content -> Sync Plans -> Create Sync Plan -> select Interval as custom cron.
