Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.x
  • Discovery
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x , 6.x

Issue

  • PXE Discovered client install fails with error:dracut-initqueue[XXX]: RTNETLINK answers: Network is unreachable.

Resolution

  • Make sure Subnet created for discovered client system vlan at following path:
On Red Hat Satellite GUI:

 Infrastructure => Subnet => <Check here the subnet details>
  • If not then create the Subnet for client system vlan and try to rebuild the Discovered client system.

  • Issue is coming due to either subnet not created for Discovered client system vlan.
  • Or already created subnet has the incorrect details.

Diagnostic Steps

  • Discovered client system fails with following error:
dracut-initqueue[767]: RTNETLINK answers: Network is unreachable
The requested URL returned error:500 Internal Server Error
