Hawkular-cassandra disk is not getting cleaned up automatically on Openshift Container Platform 3

Environment

• Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • 3.7.46 and earlier

Issue

• The hawkular-cassandra pod disk is utilizing 86% of disk. Disk is not getting cleaned up automatically.

Resolution

• Apply Errata - RHBA-2018:1798.

• Workaround: Clean the snapshots with command below against each Cassandra pod:

# oc -n openshift-infra exec <cassandra pod> nodetool clearsnapshot hawkular_metrics
