Why my RHV 4.2 cluster has Deprecated CPU warning message

Red Hat Virtualization 4.2.7

Issue

Starting RHV 4.2.7, my RHV cluster got a warning icon with a message, that it is using a deprecated CPU. What does it mean? What should I do?

Resolution

The warning message was added in This content is not included.4.2.7 to notify that the following CPU types have been deprecated and their support will be removed completely in RHV 4.3 Cluster:

  • Intel Conroe Family
  • Intel Penryn Family
  • AMD Opteron G1
  • AMD Opteron G2
  • AMD Opteron G3
    To continue to use those CPU types in RHV you will have not to increase the cluster compatibility level, renouncing to the new features that will be available only in latest cluster versions.
