Red Hat Satellite provisioning fails when using UEFI boot on external DHCP.
Environment
- Red Hat Satellite 6.3.
Issue
- When provisioning a VM from Satellite it fails with an error.
> error: invalid filename 'boot/fdi-image-rhel_7-vmlinuz'
- Provisioning fails with Satellite when using an external DHCP server.
Resolution

The external DHCP configuration was set to use bootx64.efi when a VM boot with the DHCP provided IP.

Change the firmware in the DHCP configuration to use grubx64.efi.
