Unable to synchronize custom repository without feed URL on Red Hat Satellite 6.

Solution Verified - Updated

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6

Issue

  • Unable to synchronize custom repository without feed URL.

  • Capsule synchronize tasks are not generated for the custom repository while a new package is uploaded.

Resolution

  • It is expected that a Red Hat Satellite server would not be able to synchronize any custom repositories having no upstream or feed URLs configured for them. Such repositories are maintained by uploading content into them manually.

  • If it's required to synchronize the repository with an external capsule server, ensure to fulfill the following requirements.

    • The repository in question should be part of a published version of a content-view.

    • The lifecycle environment associated with the same published version should be configured to synchronize with the external capsule server.
